Let me talk about GST:

They say BJP opposed it, Modi led Guj opposed it but no one highlights that 5 NON BJP RULED states of which o3  CONGRESS ruled states opposed it as well.

So who opposed it?

1. Maharashtra
2. Odisha
3. Tamil Nadu
4. Kerala
5. J&K

If BJP was following just a obstructionist policy why these CM's are not blamed?

Now lets come to WHY OPPOSITION !

There were 4 major demands by states which Chidambram rejected:

1. Keeping Petroleum out of GST ambit
2. Keeping Alcohol out of GST ambit
3. Keeping Entry Tax out of GST ambit
4. Some sort of guarantee from Centre for potential revenue loss

GST wipes out most state-level indirect taxes, thus taking out one the major source of revenues for states. It is like a parent tells a child to stop earning from today, and instead promises him a sum of pocket-money.

Why is BJP supporting it now?

Because they removed these lacuna's. SO try to understand why are they are supporting it. They made following changes:

1. Petroleum was kept out of GST
2. Alcohol was kept out of GST
3. A proposal was sent to law ministry to work out a “Constitutional Guarantee” to compensate states
4. And the Bonus: The power to states of levying additional 1% tax levy, for maximum 2 years, to help augment state revenues

But these congress spokespersons and MSM will keep shouting lies on top of their voices.

BJP addressed the issues of the states. SO there is no U TURN. There is COURSE CORRECTION for the Bill.

Underlying message is understand what has changed and then criticize.
